Orientation
New to CenterForLit Schools? Welcome! Find everything you need to get started here.
The following seminars contain all of the information delivered at a live CenterForLit Schools in-service presentation. For best results, please take the time to complete all of the steps below before using the rest of the resources on this website.
Step #1: watch Teaching the Classics
The Teaching the Classics Basic Seminar is the foundation and backbone of everything we do at CenterForLit. In this 8-hour seminar you will be introduced to the CenterForLit methodology and pedagogy for teaching literature.
STep #2: watch Principles and Practice
Principles and Practice is a 3.5-hour training course introducing the design and functionality of CenterForLit Schools. It assumes completion of the Teaching the Classics Basic Seminar. Upon finishing this course, teachers will be familiar with the CenterForLit Schools website and equipped to implement the literary core skills and accompanying assignments into their classrooms.
STep #3: Plan your courses
You can begin using the Teaching the Classics discussion method in your classroom right away, of course. To implement the curriculum more formally, use our lesson planning dashboard, or download templates to design a year-long course:
